Sahara solemnises 101 marriages for the fifth consecutive year at the Samuhik Vivah Samaroh organised at Sahara Shaher

Lucknow , 3rd February, 2008: Sahara India Pariwar, one of the largest conglomerate of India and world’s largest family today organized with great fanfare the 101 marriages of girls coming from the weaker section of the society. Samuhik Vivah Samaroh, as the event is called, is organised every year under the auspices of Sahara India Pariwar at Sahara Shaher Lucknow. A one-of-its kind ceremony in India, witnessed 101 marriages of under privileged girls belonging to Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian communities, at one venue. Sahara India Pariwar has been organizing Samuhik Vivah Samaroh since 2004 and this is the fifth consecutive year. Till date 505 couples have been blessed. This year 88 Hindus, 11 Muslims, 1 Sikh and 1 Christian couple tied the knot on this auspicious occasion.

Sahara invites families of both bride and groom of the 101 marriages to Sahara Shaher where at a single venue 101 weddings from different religions are performed. This is followed by lunch organized for the newly wed bride grooms, their families and guests.

On this occasion Reverend Smt. Chhabi Roy-mother of Shri Subrata Roy Sahara, Saharasri, Subrata Roy Sahara-Managing Worker & Chairman of Sahara India Pariwar, Smt Swapna Roy-Dy. Managing Worker (P&W) blessed the newly wed couples.

All the marriage arrangements like Fooding, Clothing, Lodging of the relatives, Welcoming of the Baraat, Kanyadaan, Decoration of 101 Mandaps, and others were made by Sahara India Pariwar. The Pariwar also provided basic household items to the couples so as to help them initiating a new life. Gifts worth Rs. 1 lakh to each couple has been provided by Sahara India Pariwar which includes Color Television, Refrigerator, Almirah, a double-bed, dressing table, suits to the groom while Sarees to the bride and wrist watch for both. Sahara even takes care of delivery of the gifts at the couple’s house.

The whole ambience of Sahara Shaher was made enchantingly beautiful with decoration of Flowers, Rangoli amidst chants of marriage hymns with Shehnai being played in the background. People danced with joy & revelry and had a feast of different dishes. The Vivah Samaroh was conducted amidst a gathering of distinguished invitees and Kartavyayogi workers of Sahara India Pariwar who extended their heartiest greetings to the newly wedded couples.
